
The virtual breakfast sandwich pop-up that launched last month at HalfSmoke has opened a second location at the culinary incubator Mess Hall in NE DC. For its first week in operation (now through Sunday July 5th), customers who place an order for a carryout sandwich get a FREE 12 oz. Büna Coffeehouse coffee.
The effort is led by Michelle Andrade, the general manager and COO of HalfSmoke. Butter Me Up at Mess Hall will offer an a la carte breakfast sandwiches, coffee, tea and two boozy cocktails from HalfSmoke.
Each sandwich comes with pay-it-forward action cards to encourage the community to spread love and kindness. Vegetarians will be happy to know that a standout breakfast sandwich includes the “Stop Beefin’,” with beyond meat, roasted peppers, spicy mashed avocado and sriracha-maple aioli served on a buttered, toasted brioche bun. There’s also the “Feels Like Home, if you’re craving comfort food. It’s made with buttermilk brined fried chicken, organic over medium eggs, caramelized onions, Gordy’s pickles, smoked cheddar cheese and sriracha mayo.
Breakfast sandwiches run $8-$11.
