With 4,500 bikes and over 500 stations in DC, Arlington, Alexandria and Montgomery County, Capital Bikeshare has you covered. Buy a 24-hour ($8) or a discounted single trip ($1 for a ride up to 30 min.) at any station, take out a bike, ride to your destination and return the bike to any station in the system. (Note: As of April 27, 2020, some stations may be closed). Capital Bikeshare also has an $85 annual membership for rides under 30 minutes—perfect for locals.

Through May 31st, 2020, Capital Bikeshare is offering an Essential Workers Program. Those who work in healthcare, food/retail, transit or are first responders can sign up through their employer for a free bikeshare membership for unlimited half hour or less rides.
