Saturday, September 30th is National Public Lands Day, a fee free day at all federal public lands and many state parks.
More than a quarter of the land in the U.S. is held in trust for every American. Tomorrow is a great time to get out and enjoy one of these beautiful, natural places–for free! This includes entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees, but you’ll still have to pay for camping, tours, concessions, etc.
Did you know that fourth-grade students can get free annual passes through the Every Kid in a Park program? Active duty military and citizens with a permanent disability can also get free passes. For more information about discounted passes, visit the America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass page.
