The Carlyle Community Council, the City of Alexandria and the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership sponsor Saturday Cinema at Carlyle, an outdoor film festival begun in July. The free festival is the first Saturday of every month July through October, transforming John Carlyle Square Park in the Carlyle District of Alexandria into an outdoor movie theatre. The series continues with When Harry Met Sally on September 16, and closes out on October 7 with Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds to celebrate Halloween.
Grab a date, the family or a group of friends, bring the lawn chairs and a picnic and enjoy some great flicks under the stars. Alexandria based small business Nice Cream, who recently opened their new store on King Street, will be on site serving up their handcrafted ice cream.
