A new virtual kitchen pop-up breakfast venture has launched in DC’s Shaw neighborhood. HalfSmoke, best known for its house made sausages and wood-grilled menu items, will be running the breakfast kitchen dubbed “Butter Me Up.”
Michelle Andrade, general manager and COO of HalfSmoke, has created a place whose mission is to curate familiar but modern takes on breakfast staples.
Best of all, customers who place an order from May 8th-15th will get a FREE 12 oz. coffee with a sandwich purchase. Since Friday May 8th, Butter Me Up has a rotating selection of breakfast sandwiches, coffee, tea and two boozy cocktails.
Breakfast sandwiches include “The Bestie,” with hardwood smoked bacon, organic scrambled eggs, smoked cheddar and chipotle ketchup or “Stop Beefin'” with beyond meat, roasted peppers, spicy mashed avocado and sriracha-maple aioli.
Drink options (besides coffee) include orange, pineapple, cranberry and peach mimosas, Bloody Marys, or non-alcoholic beverages like “Tea Time,” with green tea and tonic. Coffee comes from Büna Coffeehouse in DC and Southeastern Roastery in Maryland.
Each sandwich comes with a pay-it-forward cards with random acts of kindness on them, like texting a friend a memory you have of them or making a stranger smile. Free delivery will be available for residents living within a mile of the restaurant.
HalfSmoke is located at 651 Florida Ave. NW.
